Pigmentation is the name given to dark marks on your skin like freckles, sunspots and melasma. They can occur anywhere on the body, at any age, and are the result of a build-up of melanocytes.

Sun damage is the main cause of pigmentation, although hereditary, hormonal and lifestyle factors also contribute. Some skin types are more susceptible than others.

Our laser heats up the brown pigment in your skin, without causing harm to the surrounding tissue. Once hot enough, the pigment shatters and is drawn to the surface of the skin. From there, it gradually fades and sloughs off, leaving your skin brighter and clearer than before.

Our laser treatments for pigmentation work on a wide range of skin types. Of course, everyone’s skin is different, and some people will require more sessions than others. Your therapist will work with you to develop a bespoke treatment plan for you, and recommend homecare solutions to help prevent future pigmentation.

For optimal results we recommend a course of three treatments, with a maintenance session approx. every 12 months, or as required. Treatments are performed approx. 4 weeks apart.
